Moving out of London? Come down and visit…

Quite often ‘moving out’ of London only involves moving an hour or less away.

Certainly if you move down to West Kent. But that doesn’t make the decision any easier.

When you ask most people if they feel that the move has worked out for them, they say ‘yes’. Well they would, wouldn’t they? Sort of, in the end it is pretty hard to hide if you are unhappy. However it’s hard to admit that it hasn’t worked out. What certainly seems to be true is if you stray too far away from what you enjoy you could find yourself moving back to London in six months time.

For some, the reality of arriving in the middle of nowhere and realising that your life is going to be spent in a car can be a bit of a shock.  Most people who end up moving back into London seem to have bought or rented a home that was just too far in both distance and lifestyle terms from what they had hoped.

It’s true to say that in the South East you are never far from a town or village. That’s just a fact. City, town, village, countryside, there are too many cars everywhere. On the plus side it does mean is that you can be relatively near to places that are important for you, whilst still being near lots of additional amenities. You also have the benefit of the countryside minutes away (I can feel a summer photo post coming on to counter the endless weeks of wind and rain).

If you are finding it hard to make a decision, why not come and have a ‘guided tour’ around ‘The Local View’s’ area.

Depending on what you are looking for, we can visit Sevenoaks, Tonbridge or Tunbridge Wells as well as neighbouring villages showing you amenities and activities that you are interested in. We can look at journey times to schools  and or work and which roads to avoid at certain times. Find out where you would really like to live if a suitable property comes up. It will give you a good idea of how realistic your own search criteria are, what you might like out of a move and how you could balance work and ‘real life!’.

There are an increasing number of people who are moving out of London who only need to go up once or twice a week, essentially working from home. This flexibility means that they can enjoy both town and country and have a less frenetic life. Why not come down and see how it might work for you?
